Ayuo: Guitars, Vocals, Bouzouki, Bass,

The first track is the ending theme for the 2002 drama film "Border Line", the feature film debut of Korean-Japanese film director Sang-il Lee (Korean: 이상일). Ayuo composed and performed all the music in the film for three days and nights in a make-shift portable studio in the office room of the film production company, Siguro. The music was performed mostly on guitars. The ending theme was put together in three hours and recorded with a bassist and a drummer. Ayuo plays guitar and keyboards. There was also an arrangement performed by Ayuo of Ravel's "Sleeping Beauty" from "Mother Goose". This film won the Kaneto Shindo award, and Sang-il Lee went on to have a very successful career directing major films such as "Hula Girl", "69", and "Unforgiven".
In this collection, there are two Electronic Guitar tracks: "Space Guitar" and "The Origin Of Space Guitar". In the actual film soundtrack, There were a few scenes where the guitar improvised to the film adding dissonances like sound effects. However, those tracks were made as background sounds for the movie scenes. These two tracks are made to be listened to as music. A lot of effects were put on the guitar such as pitch shifters. modulators and others to create these effects. The noise music created here sometimes reminds me of Lou Reeds' "Metal Machine Music".

All the other songs were written and recorded around this time but were never released.

1曲目は、在日韓国人の映画監督、李相日（リ・サンイル）の長編映画デビュー作である2002年のドラマ映画「ボーダー・ライン」のエンディングテーマである。この映画の音楽は、映画製作会社「シグロ」の事務室である仮設ポータブル・スタジオを作って3日3晩、Ayuoが作曲と演奏を担当した。音楽は主にギターで演奏された。エンディング・テーマは3時間でまとめ、ベーシストとドラマーと一緒に録音した。Ayuoはギターとキーボードを担当。また、ラヴェルの「マザーグース」の「眠れる森の美女」をAyuoがアレンジした演奏もある。この作品は新藤兼人賞を受賞し、李相日氏はその後「フラガール」「69」「許されざる者」などの大作を監督し、大成功を収めた。
このコレクションでは、エレクトロニック・ギターが2曲収録されています。「スペース・ギター」 と 「スペース・ギターの起源」 です。実際の映画のサウンドトラックでは、ギターが即興で映画の場面に合わせて効果音のように不協和音を奏でるシーンが何度かありました。しかし、それはあくまで映画のシーンのために作られたものでした。このアルバムに含まれているこの2曲は、音楽として聴くことを前提に作られています。ピッチ・シフターやモジュレーターなど、ギターに様々なエフェクトをかけています。私にとっては、これらの音楽はルー・リードの「メタル・マシン・ミュージック」のようなノイズ・ミュージックだと思っています。

他の曲も、すべてこの時期に作曲・録音されたが、発表されることはなかった。

The film tells the story of three un-related characters, a son, a father, and a mother, each of whom has a troubled family background.

The film is largely a character study, structured in a style of a Robert Altman movie, showing a number of different sub-plots unfold over the course of a few days. The shooting style adopted is often similar to that of Yasujirō Ozu.

The cast includes Tetsu Sawaki (Shuji Matsuda, the 17-year-old high school student), Yumi Asō (Aikawa, the convenience store clerk), Ken Mitsuishi (the middle-aged yakuza), Jun Murakami (Kurosawa, the taxi driver).

Plot
The film opens with Matsuda being uncooperative at school. A radio broadcast reveals that he then murders his father and runs away on his bike. The next morning a drunken Kurosawa runs him over in his taxi. Feeling guilty about the accident, he is soon driving Matsuda to northern Japan. Matsuda remains uncommunicative and unfriendly.

Aikawa is a convenience store clerk with a son at elementary school and a husband who has abandoned the family after losing his job. Her son fakes illness to avoid school. She later discovers that he is being bullied. She becomes increasingly stressed by financial and family worries, and eventually attempts a bank robbery and kidnaps one of her son's bullies to teach him a lesson.

The middle-aged Yakuza finds that his partner has stolen his boss's money to pay for an operation for his daughter. He is given one week to find his partner and recover the money. He finds and reluctantly executes him, only to steal the money himself and give it to the widow.

He saves Matsuda from suicide, and, recognizing another troubled person on the run, invites him to stay with him at the deserted house he is using. The pair form a friendship like father and son. However, the gangsters track him down and kill him.

Matsuda goes to Hakodate, Hokkaido to trace the Yakuza's estranged daughter, now earning money as a prostitute.

At the end of the film, Kurosawa appears in Hokkaido, carrying a middle-aged female passenger in his taxi. She meets Matsuda on the beach. She may be his mother.

映画作品解説

2000年6月、岡山。高校3年生の少年が、自分をいじめる野球部の4人をバットで殴って負傷させた。"人を殺してしまった"と思った彼は、"母親に迷惑 をかけたくない"と、今度は母親をバットで殺害し、自転車で逃走。16日間で約1000キロを走り、秋田県で逮捕された。
そんな実際に起きた事件をモチーフに、"崩壊しようが、仮面の家族であろうが、親と子の関係はどうしようもなく存在する"というシリアスなテーマを、エンターテインメントとして描いた人間ドラマ。
東京から青森、北海道・函館までロケーションを敢行し、ロードムービーに相応しい心象風景を見事に描いている。

映画のストーリー

やる気のないタクシー運転手の黒崎は、自転車で走っていた高校生・松田を轢いてしまう。「北海道まで行く」と言い張る彼。仕方なく黒崎は行動を共にするのだが、ラジオで流れたニュースで、彼が父親を殺害し逃げてきたことを知ってしまう。
40代半ばのチンピラ・宮路は、舎弟の裏切りからヤクザの幹部に追われることになった。逃げ場のなくなった彼は、離れ離れになっている娘のことを思うのだった。
一見、マイホームを持ち幸福に暮らしていた主婦・美佐。しかし実際は、息子は学校でいじめに遭い、夫はリストラされストレスがたまる毎日を送っていた。
家族とのつながりに傷を持つ同士が、ほんの一瞬出会い、触れ合う兆しをみせながら、離れていく……。
