Kurt Vonnegut was the first author I started to read when I in middle school. His views about society influenced me enormously. He was German-American and grew up in Indiana in the US, a state that had many immigrants from Germany. They spoke German until World War One put an end to it. He became a soldier in World War Two, and fought against fascism, Nazism, and the military dictatorships of the Axis powers. He was captured by the Nazis and was interned in Dresden, where he survived the Allied bombing of the city in a meat locker of a slaughterhouse. His fictional book, "Slaughterhouse-Five" is based on his war experiences.

The two songs on this mini-album are also based on what Vonnegut saw immediately after the war, when he was released from the prisoner of war camp.

Toward the end of World War II, in southeastern Germany, several American soldiers who had been prisoners of war in the German army were taken from the bombed and burned city of Dresden to a place near the Czech border and left alone.
It was a state of chaos, with no government in control. This is what he saw.

Dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Axis aggression of Nazi Germany, Italian Fascism and the Japanese imperial military in World War 2.
